The reasons that force me to publish

The decision to publish the research was not easy. Personally, media coverage does not interest me, I would have preferred to keep a quiet life. But above all, it was the potential consequences of this publication that convinced me that it was necessary to try everything so as not to get there. However, despite all my efforts, all my attempts to get in touch with people well placed to manage this discovery, I was completely ignored. They did not grant me even an interview, did not deign to answer me once as soon as the name of Paititi was pronounced.

Contempt is a thing. But it is mainly because of some recent events that I find myself back to the wall and that I have no choice but to convey to you the result of my work for publication. I realize that this is a serious decision, so I feel compelled to tell a little more in details what happened. Sorry if I fall a little too much in personal details, it is difficult for me to detach from my own felt during these moments:

When I made this discovery in July 2015, I was initially shocked, it took me some time to realize that it was reality. Then followed a phase of total euphoria, during which it was impossible for me to sleep, think of anything else, to have a social life & nbsp ;: It was the phase of the hopes of a lifetime that come true.

It must be known that I live modestly and that besides my activity I have never renounced to my dream of understanding the world, to perhaps, one day, make it move forward. These countless hours, those years spent studying subjects that have no interest for most people, these life choices terribly costly to devote time on it… Everything suddenly made sense, all this had led me to this point of my life, to this discovery. Having followed my own path I could at last hope for a future.

But then reality hit me: I was the only human on seven billion holding an information of colossal value. The image of the mountains of dead that the Eldorado caused throughout history has frozen my blood. Let’s understand : the Paititi site potentially contain a very important quantity of gold. People are murdered every day for less than one millionth of that sum. This treasure, even if it is only potential, makes the thing very serious.

Others would hasten to find a way to plunder this fabulous site, but in my eyes this forgotten jewel, a priori virgin of all modern corruption, belongs to the Peruvian people and to humanity. Paititi will enrich history, and advance science, and this site must be urgently protected. That was my view of things from the beginning.

It would have been much easier for me since the summer of 2015 to publish my discovery : After all, it’s the right of every researcher. However, I had time to reflect on the consequences of a publication, and I preferred to avoid them. I therefore, despite the very real risks for me, sought by all means to contact competent people. For a year and a half … At any time during this period someone else could have discover the city, and all my work become Instantly deprived of its value. But I took this risk also, to preserve the site.

This period was very difficult: every attempt to contact an important person able to manage this discovery resulted in a bitter disillusionment. None of these private or public persons deigned to answer me. But as I was able to see, some of them were nevertheless very interested in my case : my computer was first hacked and rendered totally unusable, the data it contained without doubt stolen. Another time, someone obviously tried to double me by funding a research team from the few elements that I had to provide about my discovery to be credible.

However, I had no choice but to continue to give more and more details about my discovery and about myself, since the people I spoke to did not seem to believe me. Finally, only a few days after a second attempt to contact an intermediary, my home was burgled: no objects remained in evidence were taken away, only two hard drives on which I stored my work and that I had carefully hidden were stolen. The next day, I found my car also forced. Does this really have anything to do with my discovery? Can I really bet my life on the contrary? What would have happened if I had been at home? I deserted my home … I can not continue in these conditions. This is the main reason why I am obliged to publish the conclusions of my research.

But it’s not the only one :

According to archaeologist Thierry Jamin, who relies on official documents and reports from the Peruvian government, a group of persons is currently conducting a series of totally illegal expeditions in the area, following the elements broadcast by the team, official it, of Mr. Jamin. Fortunately, this team was mistaken about the exact location of the site, but only very little. It is also possible that these people are linked to those who hacked my research in 2015. Anyway, looters are currently in this area, and Paititi is actually in serious danger. With the publication, the Peruvian government will be obliged to grant this site a high level of protection, adapted to its importance.

To sum up: Since this discovery, to manage it was thus a course of obstacles. Everywhere I tried to make myself heard I was received with contempt and ignored, they tried to double-cross me, my data was stolen. I spared no effort, for a year and a half, during which time someone else could find Paititi. For what result ? Today, I am directly threatened, and the site is directly threatened.

I find myself in the following position : Either I continue to try to contact in a total confidentiality important people or intermediaries in whom I can not have any confidence, as they proved to me, and the site during this time will be looted. Either I publish everything, the only solution I have left to escape the menacing trap that is closing on me.

I prefer the second solution, even if it is not what I would have liked, and if it will certainly not please everyone. Critics will rain, they will be easy from people who have not had their lives at stake, or lived through this ordeal. If the right people had reacted properly, we would not be there.

Moreover, the consequences of this publication are to be apprehended in all their complexity : as I explain in the following page, it is perhaps finally only the means that a part of the remains of Paititi end up one day in a museum where they will be studied by science, taking into account the local context and the very special nature of this city.

It is by sharing this discovery around you that the Peruvian government and the international community will finally realize that Paititi exists, and that it is urgent to protect this exceptional site from the plunder that exist maybe already. The more the public and the scientists around the world will be alerted, and therefore attentive to the way this discovery is managed, the more things have a chance to happen properly on the spot.
